Bio

David Symons is an accordionist, singer, composer, bandleader, actor, and activist from Burlington, VT. Largely self-taught in music, he has been studying and performing Yiddish music since the late 90's. He is a founder of the bands Black Sea Quartet, Inner Fire District, and The Salt Wives, and is a former member of The Spielpalast Orchestra, The Wandering Jews, and Berlin's The Painted Bird. He has performed all over the the US, and in Germany and Poland. A recent high-point in his career was playing for the Cairo police as they tried to arrest him.
